| After the fine and sunny weather of the previous week, Day One (Friday) of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway's June Diesel Gala Weekend started with very mixed weather. After a bright and sunny start to the day things changed during the afternoon period as things quickly deteriorated and the skies were transformed into murky grey clouds, and was accompnaiied by a lot of the wet stuff. In spite of the less than friendly weather though there was at least an impressive array of traction on display, and these included the following locos: 20031, 25059, 33109 (D6525), 37025, 37682, 47643 and 57007 (the DMU was also providing a shuttle service between Ingrow and Keighley).
37682 and 57007 were visiting locos from DRS, though 57007 was a late replacement for the class 20 loco which should have attended. A great line up with lots of double headers featuring various combinations, and as expected, well up to the usual high standard of K & WVR events. |
